9:00 "Or you habitually run things like long Blender renders" he says, as I'm 3 hours and 45 minutes into another Blender render. My CPU's been at 100% usage for three and three quarter hours now, and the hottest it's gotten was 68 degrees C. I sometimes do renders around 20 hours. I have a certain render set up, and I was to render it, but it will take about 6 days of constant rendering, and I'm not even sure if it would come out very good. :(

This is literally what I did to my raspberry pi in it's standard case. It looks really cool, like a hotrod, and the temps are cool. Only downside is that I manually had to cut a hole into my standard case with a blade instead of using actual tools. I think there are similar looking cases that have open ceilings too.

My line of thinking on this is that if you're going to have a heatsink THAT BIG, you might as well make it a conventional one with more fins and put a large fan on it spinning very slowly (you wouldn't be able to hear it inside of a case big enough to fit this heatsink anyway)

It is common, that a console would be a bit more heat than a normal pc but.... What is the sense of buying such a small case like this and then mount a big cooler like this ? You could then rather be using a bigger case in which this cooler fits in without destroying the side panel... ^^ But I think for gaming you could also be having "T" processors with about 35 watts which produce almost no heat as well and go for a small form factor 100 Watt cooler what would still be silent. I have the same case with an 8700t and one with a 4790t and one with the 7700t which does not really get very loud in my opinion and some coolers actually "suck" out the air and blow it out of the case as well. But I admit it was looking hilariously funny ^^

I feel a passive heatsink is absolutely pointless when you can easily cool whisper-quiet with an AIO. - I use a simple 120mm AIO and it doesn't go beyond like 500-600rpm with its fan and still had plenty of headroom in terms of temperature. - Especially when it's so much bigger and difficult to fit it doesn't really make sense as an alternative. I wish it was easier to get alternate coolers for GPUs. But since the boards are so specific in design, it's hard to standardize coolers and you have to hunt for custom ones that tend to be too much extra money, AND you can't re-use them for another card. And if it's not an air-cooler, you're gonna have to mess with custom water-cooling. - I feel like they should normalize AIOs for GPUs, like the ones that are sold with AIOs already installed on them. - The cooling is great and they're not as crazy noisy with some cheap grating fans.

from the technical thermodynamics of the heat transfer that design makes me sick and my OCD going insane... so poorly made, they started great, but they just gave up and choose a easy way out of the bending of the pipes under the immense load... instead to just create a case stud system to hold the big chunk on the computer case... and the pipes and cpu to not be linked by anything but copper pipping to the big aluminum redundancy
